There’s a saying in venture capital: it’s a young person’s game. Rubbish. I’m a proud grandpa with four grandkids. I co-founded Keen to prove that a mix of experience and youth is a great concept.

A recurring theme in my professional life has been diving into complex problems and translating them into simple terms. This ability and a nose for young talent has brought me many different business card titles in my career. Now I'm giving my all to the next generation of entrepreneurs building meaningful businesses.

My commitment to defence started in the field- I served in the Dutch conscription army, and started a union to improve the voice of soldiers. Subsequently the Dutch government asked me to advise on the future of conscription, and I've taken part in the industrial cooperation between the U.S. and Europe on defence technology transfers. Suffice to say I've seen the ambition and the reality of Europe's defence industry.

I’m passionate about food, football, and watching darts! Based in London but far too often on an airplane, I’ve been happily married to my wife Heleen since my teenage years.
