At 22 I got the chance to join a startup mere weeks after its founding. It sounded like a dream to a young product manager - building a product from scratch, under the wing of experienced founders. The only catch? I’d have to move to Amsterdam for the role. I’d never set foot in the Netherlands, never planned on moving abroad, but decided anyway to pack my life into a few suitcases and board a one-way flight to Schiphol.

For the next three years, I had to go from 0-1 in my professional and personal lives- scaling a business from the ground up while building a new life for myself in a foreign country. It was a wild ride, to say the least.

Now, I’m on the other side of the table at Keen Venture Partners, swapping AI models for Excel models and backing the next wave of ambitious founders. And if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that the best journeys rarely go according to plan.
